Most adventourous trip in 2017: Argentina and Chile

In April of 2017, I traveled to Argentina to visit Annabelle, by 16-yer-old daughter. She left for Argentina in September of 2016 to study and learn about the culture for 10 months. When I arrived in the airport in Buenos Aires, I was greeted by her and her host family. It was quite the tearful reunion! After settling in our hotel, Annabelle and I set out on a 2 week adventure which took us all around Buenos Aires, down to Ushuaia, over to Pucon, Chile, down again to Olavarria, Argentina where Annaelle had been living, and then back up to Buenos Aires for my departure. Though we covered a lot of ground and saw so many amazing things, I still didn't do everything I wanted to do while I was there, so now I will have to go back!

Annabelle and I in Buenos Aires, Argentina

After I arrived in Argentina, Annabelle and I spent several days sightseeing and walking for miles around the city. The architecture was beautiful and reminded me of many of European countries I have visited.

Hostel in Ushuaia, Argentina

Annabelle and I stayed at the Refugio Del Mochiero, or "Backpacker's Refuge", owned by a dear friend, Gisele. Gisele lived in Aspen from 2001 until 2007, and worked as a preschool teacher at the Early Childhood Center in Woody Creek. She was actually Annabelle's preschool teacher at that time, so it was so much fun to visit her at her very own hostel at the bottom of the world!

Hot Springs near Pucon, Chile

Many areas in Chile are known for their volcanic activity and hot springs, which I was interested in seeing while I visited South America. Annabelle and I traveled to Chile from Buenos Aires for a few days so that we could experience them first hand. This hot springs was one of the highlights of our trip,
